Why Angus?
While there are differences within a particular breed of cattle there are even larger differences between the different breeds. Its because of these differences that JOBE Ranch has chosen to raise Angus cattle.
Angus cows are considered 'low maintenance' cattle. By this it is meant that Angus cows have several convenience traits which make the task of raising and breeding and ultimately selling simple and rewarding.
Angus cattle are characterized by their ease of calving, inheritance of polled heads, maternal traits, lack of sunburned udders and resistance to cancer eye and other diseases.
JOBE Ranch chooses to straightbreed their Angus cattle instead of crossbreeding with other breeds. For the small ranch, this is the easy and economical way to increase the herd with quality animals.
